You certainly can try. But let's face it—and this is MY em dash, thank you—there is so much more to writing than simply writing. AI cannot make the connections necessary to truly understand the needs and the complexities of the tasks it's given. Using AI without proper guardrails and management leads to all of the AI slop we see on the internet these days. Yuck. Don't contribute to the slop.

That being said, can AI be useful? Sure! But with AI in the picture, someone has to manage this tool. Someone still needs to be a prompt engineer, a data facilitator, a content reviewer and editor...an AI wrangler, if you will. Tech writers do all of that too. And more.
